Welcome

The Radio Club was founded in 1982 by a group of Radio Amateurs and Citizen Band enthusiasts who wished to learn more about radio. The club meets every Sunday between 8:00 pm and 10:30 pm in a room set aside at the Morley Green Social Club.

The purpose of the Radio Club is therefore to enable people interested in the many facets of amateur radio to meet, discuss, and to exchange information and gossip mainly to do with radio. Also to experiment and try out equipment. Visitors are very welcome.

The Club is well equipped and has aerials covering all of the amateur short wave bands (HF), plus 6m, 2m and 70cm wavelengths.

Instruction and practical training to meet the amateur radio licensing requirments have been given from the outset, and courses are run on demand. There is expertise available in electronics, equipment, antennas and feeders, morse code, and the various software aids to communication.

Members can also make use of the Social Club which has a separate licensed bar, snooker room, dance hall with a stage, and catering facilities.
